Angela Borchers, DVM, DACVIM, DACVECC

      Dr. Angela Borchers is a staff clinician in Emergency and Critical Care at UC Davis. She graduated from Veterinary School in Hannover, Germany in 2001, after which she worked in a mixed general practice while also pursuing a doctorial thesis investigating the role of nutrition and osteochondrosis. In 2003, Dr. Borchers moved to the US for further training. At the University of California in Davis, she completed a residency in Equine Internal Medicine, and in 2007 became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. It was during her residency that she developed a strong interest in Emergency and Critical Care and subsequently pursued a fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Borchers’ training involved both mainly large but also small animals, and she became board certified with the American College of Emergency and Critical Care. To further broaden her knowledge, Dr. Borchers also completed an Internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Florida. She has strong interests in all aspects of emergency and critical care, and in particular, endocrinology, sepsis, trauma and fluid therapy.
